What happens when you are stuck choosing between a life where you see your girlfriend on a daily basis and your first ever full time position over 2000 miles away? Making the right decision is easy but convincing yourself it’s the right one is impossible. You’d probably choose the first option, if you have a heart. But this is your career, what you spent over 2000$ and the last 2 years of your life studying for. There are no other options or openings close to you so you must take what’s being offered to you. Yeah, it’s going to be real hard to be so far from your loved ones and especially that special someone who’s been by your side for the last three months. You’re taking this job to offer them a better life when you move in together! So be proud of yourself for man-ing up and making the right choice that may not feel like it is, but it is.
The important thing is for you to spend as much time as you can together before you leave. You’ll have more the motivation to keep working hard while you are away. Make it a habit to skype or call on a biweekly basis on top of texting daily. This is going to be life as you know it for the next little while, except for visits once a year, so get used to it.
